Based at Dunedin Hospital, our Surgical Wards are offering fantastic opportunities for New Graduate Enrolled Nurses to help them continue to meet the needs of our community at the highest possible standard of care.
About the role
Ward 3 Surgical is a 54 bed specialist surgery ward covering Acute and Elective Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, Neurology, Rheumatology, ENT, Ophthalmology and Maxillofacial areas. Enthusiastic nurses with a "can do" positive attitude who enjoy the challenge of a working in a busy but rewarding environment and who can demonstrate adherence to high nursing practice standards will thrive. This is a fantastic opportunity to work collaboratively with a dynamic team of health care professionals from a variety of disciplines, and gain further exposure to develop your repertoire of nursing skills.
We will support you as a new graduate to develop your practice in an environment that models excellence in nursing, leadership, professionalism and best practice principles. There is ample opportunity to build on your foundation of knowledge and expand your breadth of skills here, whether it's through the varied and diverse caseloads or through professional development and mentoring; those who are motivated to continue learning will certainly be kept on their toes.
About you
To be successful in this very busy role you will need to have an interest in surgical nursing, be able to demonstrate resilience, won't mind putting in some hard work and be open and willing to up-skill as required. You'll also be a confident communicator with a friendly demeanour and someone who values patient centred care. In return you'll gain great work experience in a multidisciplinary team and the opportunity to develop your skills in a variety of surgical specialties.
