We are looking for people to help deliver our councils vision of building a life style capital by putting people first, caring for our place and supporting a prosperous community.
In the newly created Network Planning Engineer - water and wastewater role, you will be responsible for the preparation of strategic plans for the long term development of our infrastructure to help build the councils vision of a lifestyle capital. You will lead project teams who will create master plans for our treatment plants and reticulation networks and develop investment businesses cases for the resultant projects. You will work closely with our district planning and operations teams and the community including iwi to ensure we invest in the right thing at the right time.
To be successful in this role you will be able to apply innovative, strategic and integrated thinking and decision making to enable the successful planning of infrastructure projects. You will also have the ability to communicate well to technical and non-technical stakeholders, build strong relationships and lead project teams. A relevant tertiary qualification in science or engineering and experience in the water and wastewater industry is a must.

Who are we?
We are a large organisation employing approximately 600 people, with staff based in more than 12 locations around the district. We manage the environmental, social, economic, and cultural wellbeing of the New Plymouth district - making decisions for and on behalf of the local community and setting the district's overall strategic direction.
