Job DescriptionThe PSA, Te Pukenga Here Tikanga Mahi is the largest union in New Zealand and is an innovative and dynamic organisation employing over 180 staff throughout New Zealand. We are a membership-based organisation with a bicultural structure. Te Runanga o Nga Toa Awhina is the Maori arm of the PSA membership. We have 90,000 members working in central and local government, health and community services. The focus of the PSA is to advance the interests of members through the political, industrial, economic and social environment. The PSA takes a strategic approach to building unionism.
To achieve our strategic goal of becoming a strong, influential and modern union we have a vacancy for a recently created National Support Leader position. The core purpose of the National Support Leader role is to build engaged and high performing support and organising teams.
The successful applicant will work alongside one other National Support Leader and share overall responsibility for the Te Roopu Tohutohu Manaaki (Member Advice & Support Centre), Membership Team, Growth Team, Organising Administrators, Delegate Education.
The PSA has an ambitious work programme for the development of the union. As part of the leadership group with oversight of systems development and project work, the successful applicant will have a key role in the delivery of projects through respective teams.
This role is fulltime and will be based in one of our PSA offices.
Te Pukenga Here Tikanga Mahi is committed to honouring Te Tiriti O Waitangi across our organisation and the work we do. Knowledge of te reo and tikanga Maori will therefore be an advantage.
The salary range for this position is $110,271 to $120,804. New employees enter the range on a starting rate based upon previous relevant experience and commensurate with internal relativities. Progression to the top of the scale is by regular and automatic service steps.
