Mo te tunga | About the roleThis is your opportunity to bring your passion, knowledge and experience to the NZ Defence Force to help eliminate harmful sexual behaviour and create a safer working environment for our people.As the National Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Manager (National SAPRA Manager) you will lead the planning, implementation and delivery to support the NZDF Op Respect programme of work and the NZDF strategy of eliminating all forms of harmful sexual behaviour.You will be responsible for aligning the Operation Respect strategic vision with operational service delivery.As part of this role you will be responsible for the recruitment and training of Sexual Assault Response Team members and ensuring that they are provided a coordinated professional response to reports of harmful sexual behaviour.You will act as the second tier responder for all disclosures of harmful sexual behaviour and provide advice and guidance to the Sexual Assault Prevention Advisors to ensure a confidential, comprehensive and coordinated approach is delivered.You will be expected to work from the office in Wellington CBD for at least the first three months. Once you are established in the role, flexible working arrangements are negotiable.Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and ExperienceYou will be a subject matter expert who has had previous experience and demonstrated knowledge of responding to all forms of harmful sexual behaviour including sexual assault, sexual harassment and sexualised social behaviour. You will have developed management skills and working with remote teams will be familiar to you. Additionally, you will:Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.Be able to work in a changing and sometimes ambiguous environment.Be experienced in developing and maintaining working relationships in a complex and large government organisation.Be experienced in leading systems, advising and influencing at senior levels.Be able to operate at both an operational and strategic level building partnerships and stakeholder relationships.Demonstrate experience in leading, coaching and mentoring a team of high performers.Have experience or knowledge in interpretation and advising on the application of legislation.This role requires occasional domestic travel as you will be leading a team who are geographically dispersed across NZDF's Camps and Bases.
