About the City Operations Team:The City Operations Team performs an essential role in our city, keeping our green spaces well maintained and beautiful. Tauranga is a great place to live and play and our green spaces are core to the community's ability to enjoy everything the city has to offer. We are currently on the lookout for three experienced Mowing & Edging Operators to join our Owens Place based Mowing Team. The successful applicants will work as part of a small team mowing and maintaining the Te Ara o Wairakei stormwater drain/ reserve in Papamoa.The mahi in this role includes operating an out-front ride on mower, edging and weed whacking.Hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 3.30pm (40 hour per week)Full uniform, PPE, wet weather gear, and work boots are providedThese are brand new permanent roles as a result of in-housing an existing mowing contractWhat you'll need to succeed in the City Operations Team: Be reliable, honest and hardworkingRelevant experience ideally in mowing and/or operating tractorsRelevant qualifications such as Open Space Mowing, Wheels, Tracks and Rollers, Traffic Management and First Aid are preferred but full training can be organised for the right candidate/sTech savvy, with the ability to use a mobile phone and learn our workflow appA positive attitude and a willingness to listen and learnThe ability to deliver a high quality of work and take real pride in what you doA track record of being a good team playerA full clean NZ drivers licenceThe ability to follow and implement Health and Safety guidelinesBe physically fit and able to work outdoors on your feet all dayGood communication and customer service skills - you'll need to be an ambassador for TCC and comfortable answering the communities enquires while out on the jobPlease note as part of Tauranga City Councils commitment to health, safety and wellbeing, the successful candidate/s will need to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen.We are unable to provide sponsorship for these roles.
