Metal Fabricator/Welder

Queenstown Engineering requires a new and energetic Metal Fabricator / Welder (NZ Register Level 4 qualification or minimum of four years? experience).
The majestic Wakatipu basin is an engineer?s paradise with challenging terrain, climate and relative isolation. We are masters in the manufacture and installation of all steelwork for this area ? industrial, structural and architectural. In order to help us fulfill this, you will be responsible for supervising staff from time to time, undertaking engineering projects as directed, and at times, working directly with the client. Working alongside the owners will allow the successful applicant to further their understanding of the engineering sector including working to AS/NZ Standards.
If you are interested in joining the Queenstown Engineering team you will need to be:
Fully qualified in your trade or have at least 4 years of experience.
Fully competent in arc and mig welding
Fully competent welding in all positions for structural steel (proven experience)
Mathematically knowledgeable and able to understand dimensions
Able to accurately read and interpret engineering drawings
Able to work unsupervised
Committed to providing exceptional workmanship within given time constraints
An effective communicator and fluency in English
Applicants must have:
A fantastic work ethic
Your own tools
A current Drivers Licence
Ability to pass AS/NZ 2980 Weld Tests.
NZ residency or a valid NZ work permit
The following would also be advantageous but not essential:
A current Site Safe passport
A Class 4 and Forklift Drivers License
Experience using a Hiab
Remuneration will be based on proven experience and skills demonstrated.
