About the role
This position will form part of a high-performing market research and analytics function at the University.
The Marketing Data Analyst is responsible for the provision of high level marketing and digital marketing analytics, intelligence gathering, dashboard production, conversion reporting and campaign evaluation, as described in the relevant University Services, External Relations and Chancellery strategies and as requested by internal clients on an ad hoc basis.
The successful candidate will be an active participant in and contribute to the broad marketing, recruitment and digital analyst community at the University and champion the improved use of information in decision making in the areas of marketing, communications and recruitment.
Providing reports, dashboards and recommendations on findings (particularly with regards to marketing and recruitment campaigns) to key University stakeholders is a key component of this role. The Marketing Data Analyst also plays a significant role in the setting of objectives and KPIs for marketing activities in External Relations and in ensuring marketing activities are tracked appropriately to allow the required monitoring and evaluation to occur.
Developing and maintaining effective working relationships within External Relations and across, Academic Divisions, Chancellery Marketing & Communications and external marketing analytics suppliers is also essential to ensure high quality and timely service delivery.

About you
You will have:
An undergraduate degree with relevant experience; or extensive experience and broad knowledge of the field; or an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience and/or education and training. Experience in the higher education sector is highly desirable.
Marketing analytics skills: Competency in the extraction, analysis and reporting of a variety of data sources including marketing channels (social media, email, advertising, search), Google Analytics, CRM, surveys and sales / admissions. Experience in providing best practice approaches in the measurement and tracking of complex marketing campaigns (including set up of UTM codes and goal measurement).
Experience in data visualisation and dashboarding: including competency with the use of tools such as Tableau, Google DataStudio, Excel and PowerBI.
Evidence-based decision-making: experience identifying and solving problems through analysis, and providing action-oriented recommendations based on solid evidence.
Communication: strong verbal and written communication and data presentation skills.
