Office Management (Administration & Office Support) Waihopai Runaka is one of the 18 papatipu runaka recognised under the Te Runanga o Ngai Tahu settlement. Murihiku Marae stands proudly on its home whenua on the outskirts of Invercargill and is home to Waihopai Runaka. Murihiku Marae is home not only to the people of Waihopai, but a place for people from all over our rohe to come.  We are seeking a person with both passion for our runaka and marae, and for seeing the progressive development and strengthening of our whanau, whenua and community. As such, we are looking for a Marae Co-ordinator & Support kaimahi to join our team. As Marae Co-ordinator you will become part of the wider Waihopai Marae family, which includes whanau, volunteers and kaimahi. You will become an integral part of the whanau who are kaitiaki over the land and resources of Waihopai. As Marae Co-ordinator you will be responsible for high quality, professional services such as: Overall management of all marae bookings, events and activities including noho, hui, wananga, tangihanga and liaising with whanau to ensure kaikaraka, kaikorero are supporting these events as required and appropriate. Administration, organisation and overseeing of marae & office room bookings, vehicle bookings etc. Day to day oversight of the marae complex and grounds Administration, organisation and overseeing of repairs & maintenance tasks related to Murihiku Marae Papakaika It is expected that the Marae Co-ordination kaimahi will be responsible for the planning, monitoring, implementation, communication, documentation and budgeting for each event/activity We are looking for someone with a passion for people and who understands how connection to marae enhances wellbeing for all people.  As a successful candidate, you will have:  proficiency in managing networks and building networks proficiency with event/activity management  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbally Empathy and understanding of the dynamics of whanau who interact with the marae Understanding of Whanau, hapu, iwi, and the Te Triti o Waitangi and its implications for Maori.  Satisfactory police vet and assessment results in accordance with the Vulnerable Childrens Act A full NZ Drivers Licence This is a FIXED TERM contract for 6 months, with potential to renew 25-35 hours per week negotiable - flexible hours according to event needs To apply please send your CV and Covering  letter to (email protected) by 4pm, Friday 3 May 2024 .  Applications will be assessed as they are received so the interview process may start before this date.  Your application will include the following questions: Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?
