Maori Mentor For Child - Casual - Christchurch

We are looking for an enthusiastic passionate male with a great handle on the Maori language and Culture to become a cultural mentor to our 10 year old son.
C is incredibly proud of his Maori heritage but due to disconnect from his biological family, we need some support to build this in him.
We would love someone who could regularly spend time with C and teach him Haka, Te Reo Maori, weaving etc. This person would need: Strong links into the local community to further C's understanding and connection Have a very solid cultural mindset with varied experiences Open to working with children with additional needs as C has mild special needs Be passionate about imparting knowledge on others Have a full clean drivers licence Be happy to support the whole family's understanding of Maori culture Be fun, caring and empathetic Reliable and consistent
This role will be varied in hours to meet both parties needs but we would hope for 1-2 afternoons a week or one weekend day.
