Job Description
Manufacturing Technician – Permanent
Reports to: Production Supervisor, Protein Separation Unit
Position Location: Christchurch

How you'll make an impact

You’ll be part of a small team producing cell culture media and extracting/ purifying proteins for global clients. This is done in a large scale, purpose built, modern and temperature controlled production environment in the biotech industry. You will work with attention to detail, observing and working within Standard Operating Procedures and following cGMP principles (current Good Manufacturing Practices).
What will you do?Get trained over a period of time in a number of protein separation and purification processes, taking full responsibility of the task when confident and working as a team to get all manufacturing tasks done each day.
Record manufacturing processes in real time and neatly, in batch manufacturing records
Perform all work using the appropriate SOP, batch sheet, etc.so that the same standards are followed by everyone.
Ensure plant hygiene and housekeeping is always maintained.
Report to the Team Leader / Production Supervisor any production related problems.
Update SOP’s, batch sheets and Hazard ID’s as required.

How will you get here?
Education:
Academic qualifications – NCEA Level Two, or Sixth Form Certificate, with some Science and Mathematics related subjects, or a tertiary qualification preferably in Science.

Experience:
Experience working in a manufacturing or laboratory environment is preferred.
