We are looking for a fixed term, full time Manager – Start-up Ventures to join the Innovation Development Group at Te Ahikomako - Centre of Maori Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Hamilton.
About the role:The core role of the Manager - Start-up Ventures is to curate, manage, and facilitate our kaupapa Maori infused programmes, services, and priorities. The role will have a specific focus on supporting Maori-led start-ups and entrepreneurs to develop innovative products and businesses with high growth potential, developing the capability of emerging Maori entrepreneurs through coaching, mentoring and tailored capability development in readiness for market entry, investment and growth, and strengthening the Maori entrepreneurship and start-up ecosystem.
The key responsibilities of the role are:Curating strategies to support the development of Maori entrepreneurs and business to take their products and services into the market domestically and internationally
Managing customers through start-up, acceleration and incubation, and connect with investors, experts, partners and external organisationsBuilding and developing professional expertise, mentors, and coaching cohort domestically and globallyDesigning and developing fit-for-purpose customer capacity and capability programmes and solutions that supports Maori entrepreneurial start-up, development and growthDesigning programme and workshop content, tools and resources to suit customer needDeveloping and preparing delivery plans including budget, resources, communication and risk management planFacilitating programmes and workshops Overseeing and assisting planning and delivery of investor and sponsors events
About you:You have:A Bachelor degree in Management, Marketing or Communications
A Diploma level qualification in Design Led Innovation, Agile, Lean Business Model Canvas, or Project Management would be an advantage 7+ years’ in a business management or commercial environment5+ years’ in start-up, acceleration, or incubation roles and environments including market research and analysisExcellent ability in the use of project management toolsExcellent ability in the use of lean business methodologies, and revenue and business modellingYou excel at establishing and maintaining strong and meaningful strategic relationships with key stakeholdersProficient understanding and use of Te Reo Maori, OR TARM level 4, OR equivalent qualificationA full NZ Drivers Licence
