Compliance & Risk (Banking & Financial Services) Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Compliance Risk for IBB, you will be responsible for the identification, management and monitoring of Compliance risk within Institutional & Business Banking (IBB). You will help to maintain IBB's compliance with risk management frameworks and strategies including the day-to-day requirements set by Westpac New Zealand Limited's (WNZL). You will actively be a champion for risk and compliance and encourage a move towards a proactive risk culture by providing insight, advice, and pragmatic solutions. You will provide continuous and aligned quality assurance and control design and testing assistance. In addition, this role will require you to contribute to the design, implementation and on-going improvement and monitoring of risk related policies and procedures across the business unit. What will I bring? Work experience of 5+ years in the financial services industry with a strong knowledge of the NZ financial services industry with 3+ years in Compliance or similar risk discipline. Strong Knowledge of regulatory guidelines (AML/CFT, Sanctions, PEPs, FMCA). Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. law, commerce) desired, but not essential if risk and compliance knowledge and experience is proven. Demonstrable commercial acumen and risk awareness. Familiar with the 3LOD operating model and ACAMS accredited preferred but not essential. A questioning and continuous improvement mindset. Ability to act independently and proactively within agreed framework, strong work ethic. Good knowledge of risk frameworks, systems and banking lending practices. Competent in analysing data and interpreting results and trends to provide business insight.
