The opportunity: Reporting to the Controller, the Manager, Accounting & Financial Reporting will support the Financial Controller in managing all financial operations and assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analysis for all entities in the group.
Key responsibilities include: Supporting the Financial Controller in managing all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.Assisting in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analysis.Assisting with the monthly close process and ensure accuracy of financial data.Building out robust financial reporting packages for senior leadership.Participating in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.Performing general ledger reconciliation and analysis.Maintaining a strong understanding of financial regulations and accounting standards and ensure compliance.Providing support in the preparation of audit schedules and respond to audit inquiries.Assisting with special projects as needed.Performing other duties as assigned.The ideal candidate will possess: A bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred.At least 3 years' experience in an accounting role.CPA designation is required.Strong understanding of financial regulations and accounting standards.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.A strong degree of attention to detail, with strong organizational skills.Proficiency in financial software and the MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.An excellent attitude and commitment to providing extraordinary service.Conditions of employment: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.A background check, satisfactory to the employer, will be required of the successful applicant prior to commencing employment.Wellington-Altus is strongly committed to equity and diversity within its community and welcomes applications from women, racialized persons, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, and persons of all sexual orientations and genders.
