MACHINE SHOP SUPERVISOR
A Machining, Fabrication and Maintenance Engineering Company in the Dunedin area, specialising in Production Machining & General Engineering are looking for a Machine Shop Supervisor, to join a combined team of designers, fabricators and a fully equipped machine shop on the same site, which enables them to provide a complete engineering solution to clients.
Duties:
• Working closely with the Manager and the staff on the floor.
• Required to operate all the machinery including CNC / Manual Mills / Lathes
• Proven leadership and coaching skills, able to assist in training apprentices and junior staff.
• Liaise with staff in other divisions and also clients, so good communication skills are important
• Able to price jobs and allocate resources to both machinery and staff
• Think outside the square in ensuring the efficient running of the Machine Shop.
• Attend and contribute to weekly management meetings,
• A strong Health and Safety focus, consistently championing Health, Safety and Quality Assurance procedures in all operations
• Future growth within the company for the right candidate within the company, plus opportunities for further education and training as well.
Requirements:
• Trade Qualified as Fitter & Turner or Toolmaker
• Minimum of 5 years plus experience
• Previous Production Machining experience
• Read and interpret drawings
• Hands on working experience in Milling & Turning (both Manual & CNC)
• CNC Fagor Controllers skills would be very advantageous
• Previous work experience in breakdowns
• Able to work overtime if / when required
• Good written and verbal English skills

Details:
Remuneration negotiable according to your skills, knowledge & level of experience
Full time – Permanent job.
40 hours per week (overtime depending on workload)
