About the roles
We are looking for a part time Lived Experience Mentor to join our team. This is a pivotal role in our Outpatient Methamphetamine Treatment Program known as the Matrix Aotearoa. This role has been designed for an addiction treatment worker who has excellent skills in assisting others in achieving sustainable recovery in addiction. You will demonstrate hope for program participants that recovery is possible. You will bring the voice of the service user to the Matrix Program. You will show that we value the experience and input of people with methamphetamine use issues.

About our team
Our team is made up of Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS), Addiction Service and Early Intervention Service (EIS). Each team is multi-disciplinary with a psychiatrist, nurses, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists and counsellors. Currently the three teams are based in separate locations with close liaison between teams.
About you
You will be able to draw on your personal experience of substance use issues and will be a current or past user of Addiction services. You will bring that perspective to service delivery. You will need strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with different agencies and community providers. To ensure that the consumer perspective is strongly represented across the Addictions sector.
Whilst we are looking for experience we recruit primarily for attitude. You will need to fit into a cohesive team culture of collaborative practice, openness, humour and respect across disciplines and you will engender confidence, trust and rapport with clients, their support networks and other agencies and service providers.
