An exciting opportunity has become available for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who has what it takes to succeed in a dynamic and challenging role within a cross functional team and organisation.
The primary purpose of this position is to contribute to community safety and wellbeing in Rotorua. This is achieved through the effective and efficient regulation of food safety, environmental health, noise, alcohol licensing, geothermal safety, general inspection and associated investigation and enforcement activities.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A clear passion for the Rotorua District and to serve your communityExemplary communication skills, both verbal and writtenProven experience in undertaking inspection, investigation, enforcement, education and managing licensing related work programsSound judgement and decision making skills, and an eye for detailProven experience in managing a complex and continually changing work load and prioritiesProven ability to write succinct correspondence, reports and submissions, including relevant documentation for legal mattersAbility to operate independently with minimal supervisionProven ability to effectively resolve conflict and provocation while maintaining professional integrity at all times.A commitment to customer service, accountability, teamwork and continuous improvementA high level of computer literacyThe ability to also work to an agreed rotating after hours staff rosterA qualification as an Environmental Health Officer is desirable, but not required.A full and clear NZ driver's licenceThis is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career and be part of a progressive team.
