About the role
We are establishing new processes in an exciting growth phase for the Legal Team and have created a new role to support our high-quality work. We are searching for a versatile administrator to bring their skills and enthusiasm to a great team delivering a wide variety of legal services to Council. The role will work alongside the current Legal Assistant and provide additional support for the team 24h per week. The role must be in the Thames office, but how the hours are worked is flexible.
The part-time role sits within the Legal Team and provides exceptional administrative and coordination support across the legal function, ensuring confidentiality and discretion in all activities. You will have an opportunity to be involved in a range of legal work helping to ensure Council meets both its statutory requirements and our commitment to excellent customer service.
Key responsibilities include:
Administrative and word processing support for Council’s legal services
Responsibility to manage timely responses to official information requests
Use our specialist databases to research, investigate and analyse Council records to support the work of the Legal Team
Relationship building and communications with key stakeholders
About you
Our ideal candidate has extensive administrative experience, can work independently, is remarkably organised, and can manage changing priorities comfortably. You will have the ability to build effective relationships across the team and Council, whilst maintaining confidentiality and building trust in our Legal Team. You will be confident in communicating with people from all walks of life, bring a sense of calm and humour, and thrive as part of a strong team.
You’ll need to demonstrate:
Extensive administrative experience (within a legal environment is an advantage)
Ability to show initiative, be thoroughly organised and able to build great working relationships
Solid Microsoft skills and the ability to learn specialist databases
Confidence in communicating in writing and in person
