Te Kaupeka Ture | Faculty of Law invites applications for a continuing position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Law. The level of appointment will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience. The primary focus of the appointment is to teach and research in Law, including to undertake and develop an active programme of high-quality research and scholarly publishing. The Faculty particularly welcomes applications from candidates with qualifications and experience in the teaching and research of Tikanga and Te Ao Maori. The Faculty also has research and teaching needs in the areas of Land Law, Equity, Trusts, Commercial Law, Employment Law, Private Law, Family Law, and Tort Law.

You will be a highly motivated academic, or a practitioner with relevant professional experience who wishes to move into academia. At Lecturer level you should demonstrate the promise of high-quality teaching and research, or equivalent professional experience. At Senior Lecturer level you should have a proven record of high-quality research and teaching, or equivalent professional experience. You will work well within diverse cultural environments, as well as provide a positive contribution to the administration of the school and the University more generally.
The University is committed to building Maori capacity within any field of Law so knowledge of tikanga and depth of engagement with te ao Maori would be an advantage if you are not a tikanga expert already.
