The role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team, in a part-time capacity, right at the beginning of a new era for nursing education. This role will primarily involve teaching in theory, simulation and clinical courses in the Bachelor of Nursing, Diploma of Enrolled Nursing, and Competency Assessment Programmes. There may also be opportunities to teach in the Graduate Certificate in Nursing Practice and / or at postgraduate level including the Master of Nursing depending on the background, qualifications, and experience of the successful applicant. The role will suit a Registered Nurse with a background in general nursing including acute medical -surgical, rehabilitation, mental health, older persons health or primary health care.
Staff members are expected to work across programmes according to their professional background and educational qualifications. This role requires a nurse who is passionate about clinical practice, has an excellent reputation as a professional and who can contribute to undergraduate and / or postgraduate education and research. This role may suit an experienced educator or someone new to nursing education who is seeking a change in the direction of their career.
Guaranteed number of hours to be discussed as applicable.
Skills/experience:
Registered Nurse with current New Zealand Practicing Certificate
A postgraduate qualification, in Nursing or related discipline
A minimum of three years full-time clinical experience as a registered nurse
Clinical and educational qualifications and skills that support teaching of general nursing
A broad range of clinical practice and skills
