You must have a strong knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum , visible learning, culturally responsive and relational pedagogy. The ability to develop positive relationships with students and staff and our community would be essential. This role works with and influences the school's leadership teams to support learning outcomes for our akonga. This permanent role will: Support akonga/students through building an inclusive school or kura and cluster environment which encourages participation, progress, and successful transitions. Support kaiako/teachers in schools and kura to lift their capability to better meet the needs of learners, and to strengthen their connections with early learning services. 0.2 of this time will be allocated to supporting transition of ESOL students, and releasing teachers for IEP, transition or learning support PLD. Support parents and whanau to build better relationships of understanding around learning support and establishing points of contact if needed. To be considered for the position, applicants must be a NZ registered teacher, and have if not all, most of the following: A commitment to te Ao Maori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi that is actualised in your pedagogical leadership, practice, and culture of care. The ability to work collaboratively with akonga/students, kaiako/teachers, teacher aides, whanau and external agencies including RTLB to support the learning journey of akonga in ways that recognise their identity, language, and culture. The ability to form effective collaborative relationships with other LSCs and senior staff. Met professional standards relevant to their current position.
