We are product focused and leverage modern platforms, technologies and ways of working to deliver quality, sustainable and cost-effective products and services.We take pride in leading change that will provide equitable digital solutions for the health of Aotearoa.As one of our Lead Software Engineers, you will be at the forefront of establishing and leading our software engineering capability for Sector Digital Channels by the designing, creating, testing, and maintaining of software systems in developing high-quality software products that meet the technological demands and adheres to standards set by a modern organisation.You will contribute to defining processes, standards, and best practices for software development and ensuring adherence to them as well as applying the latest trends, technologies, and industry developments.You will collaborate closely with other engineering teams, ensuring seamless coordination and efficient execution of all software development projects.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 7 years of experience as a software engineer.Expert in multiple programming languages commonly used in cloud environments, such as Python, Java, Node.js, or .NET.Expert in either Angular or React frontend frameworks.Expert in Azure or AWS cloud services.Expert with Git source repository and expert with GitHub/GitLab with standard Git workflows.Good knowledge in CI/CD, Azure DevOps, OpenShift, Docker and Kubernetes.Good knowledge in CI/CD pipelines and automation tools, such as AWS Code Pipeline or Jenkins.Good knowledge in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.Experience working in an Agile methodology (E.g., Scrum).Experience with long lived solutions spanning multiple years.Knowledge of the Health Sector and Government is preferred but not essential.Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards, including HL7 FHIR, DICOM, and related protocols.Demonstrated leadership experience with the proven ability to coach, lead and guide teams.A commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions.
