What's the mahi?  As a Lead/Senior Geotechnical Engineer, based in Otautahi Christchurch, you will be a vital part of the Ground and Underground Engineering Service Group who are changing the way we design and deliver major works to be carbon neutral and sustainable. Your role will include:  Manage work programs to ensure that they are delivered to client expectations, timeframes and specifications  Deliver multiple concurrent projects across their entire life cycle, scope management, contract administration, financial management, project scheduling and risk management  Be part of a supportive team that works together to meet our client's goals  Undertaking site investigations for a wide variety of large scale infrastructure projects You will undertake a broad range of geotechnical specific tasks including site investigation, analysis, design, reporting, and construction supervision. Our team delivers projects of all sizes and complexities, and work in a diverse range of markets ranging from commercial/industrial building development and land development to transportation and municipal infrastructure projects.  Project spotlight – Some projects you may be involved with: Major Infrastructure Rebuild Projects Land Development Projects - The Ground Engineering team supports our land development teams to deliver large subdivisions around the country, many of these are multi-year projects, some have already been underway for over ten years, working with some of the largest land development clients in the country. Transport Projects - The Ground Engineering Team is currently working across many large infrastructure projects for Waka Kotahi, such as the Papakura to Drury Road widening of SH1 which is currently in design, along with O Mahurangi Penlink – a new 2 lane road with shared use walking and cycling path to connect Whangaparaoa to wider Auckland. We previously undertook the design of Te Ahu a Turanga – Manawatu Tararua Highway and we are currently overseeing construction of the new motorway which includes large earthworks with cuttings in the order of 50m deep. Wellington Metro Upgrade Program - We have a team working on two packages of the WMUP program, covering both rail and highway works. The work is part of the wider project improving safety, resilience and access to public transport options. The is a very broad range of works underway that is currently in the design phase. Renewable Energy - We have regular ground engineering input to support our energy teams with the development of our client's solar farms and wind farms. There are several projects currently underway, many of which are in design phase. We also do a lot of work to support our Manufacturing teams with their clients who are changing to more renewable methods. What are we looking for from you? You will have a genuine passion for re-imagining engineering solutions. We value that each of our team members brings something different to Aurecon. We look for people who have had a broad range of experiences throughout their career and can demonstrate how they have worked as part of a diverse team to bring ideas to life.  With at least 7 years of experience in a similar consultancy-based role (preferably within New Zealand), the ideal candidate will possess the following:  Degree qualified with a Washington Accord Engineering degree Good experience in geotechnical analysis and design, primarily focusing on the issues of settlement, foundations, slope stability and retaining wall design Experience in development of ground models and identification of geotechnical risk  Excellent oral and written communication skills Experience in site investigation and ground modelling A collaborative team member.  A valid full NZ drivers license.  Current entitlement to work in New Zealand  What's in it for me?
