This role requires strong leadership, technical proficiency, and strategic thinking to advance our scientific objectives and contribute to groundbreaking discoveries in synthetic biology.Responsibilities:Strategic Research Leadership:Lead the design and execution of research projects at the forefront of synthetic biology, integrating bioinformatics approaches for data analysis and interpretation.Develop and communicate a clear scientific vision, setting strategic research goals aligned with organizational objectives.Project Planning and Execution:Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and milestones in collaboration with cross-functional teams.Oversee project execution, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.Provide scientific guidance and technical expertise to research teams, troubleshooting challenges and driving innovative solutions.Bioinformatics Analysis and Integration:Apply bioinformatics tools and methodologies to analyze genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data relevant to synthetic biology projects.Integrate bioinformatics analyses into experimental design and data interpretation, driving insights and guiding research directions.Team Leadership and Mentorship:Mentor and support team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive research environment.Provide scientific leadership, guidance, and technical training to research staff, empowering them to excel in their roles.Communication and Collaboration:Communicate research findings, progress, and implications to internal and external stakeholders through presentations, publications, and reports.Collaborate with academic and industry partners to leverage complementary expertise and advance research objectives.Regulatory Compliance and Ethical Standards:Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical standards governing synthetic biology research.Collaborate with regulatory affairs teams to facilitate regulatory approvals and adherence to best practices.Requirements:B.Sc in Synthetic Biology, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, or related field.Extensive experience leading interdisciplinary research teams in synthetic biology or related fields.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a track record of fostering collaboration and innovation.Experience with regulatory compliance processes and standards applicable to synthetic biology research (e.g., biosafety regulations) is preferred.Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic research plans, driving scientific advancement and contributing to organizational goals.Agency for Science, Technology and Research About the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) The Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) is Singapore's lead public sector agency that spearheads economic oriented research to advance scientific discovery and develop innovative technology.
