Te Turanga | About the role The Laboratory is responsible for supporting the provision and maintenance of an effective Laboratory service. Provision of accurate and reliable test data for consent compliance purposes and to enable process control of the Wastewater Treatment Plants and Water Treatment Plants. This role supports both Tauranga City Council and Western Bay of Plenty District Council as well as other customers in accordance with accreditation standards. As a Laboratory Technician - Sampling you are primarily responsible for sample collections, basic lab equipment calibration, sample receipt and registration as well as sample analysis and associated quality assurance. Additionally, you will be involved in performing audits and keeping tidy, complete and accurate test records. You will handle customer enquiries and provide advice as needed in a timely manner. There is a requirement to work on the weekends on a rotation basis. Nga Pukenga | What you'll need to succeed To succeed in this role, you'll bring: A current, full, clean, driver's licence A New Zealand Certificate (or Diploma) in Applied Science Good understanding of accreditation requirements. Must be, or be able to become, an Approved Chemical handler for the chemicals the Laboratory holds.
