This team provides accurate and comprehensible material analysis and test information to our stakeholders to enable them to make the best business decisions possible. Whilst this is an entry level role, there will be opportunity to progress into more senior roles within the business.Key Accountabilities includeThis role is a great opportunity for an analytical person who has previously worked with specialised laboratory equipment. This person will be well equipped in MS Excel and Word for data analysis, manipulation and reporting. Reporting to the Superintendent Laboratory, you will be:Engaging in safe behaviours and practices, identifying and putting into place controls that prevent harmSafely preparing & analysing samples using appropriate standard procedures, primarily in the area of XRD, XRF and AAS techniquesLiaising with customers to plan and schedule sampling and analysis to meet customer business needs, often to tight timescalesSupporting non-routine analysis work that will help improve and grow the businessConducting and supporting planned maintenance and inspection of equipment to provide safe and reliable operation including problem solving equipment issues to identify root cause and required repairsContributing to the maintenance of the Laboratory Quality Management System which is certified to ISO 17025Communicating analysis results to site customers in a timely manner to enable them to carry out their work.What you'll bringA degree in Chemistry would be highly beneficialPrevious experience in a laboratory or smelter or refinery operational environment preferredVery strong attention to detail and quality of data reportedAbility to communicate clearly with customersAbility to manage own work programme and work across multiple fronts to agreed timescalesSolid experience with MS Excel and WordWhat we offerA competitive base salary reflective of your skills and experience with annual incentive programComprehensive medical assistance schemeAttractive share ownership planLeave for all of life's reasons (vacation/annual, paid parental, sick leave) including long service leaveCompetitive superannuation programmeCareer development & education assistance to further your technical or leadership ambitionsIn addition to paying competitively and providing great benefits packages, we want you to live the lifestyle that is right for you and your family.
