The Business La Zeppa - a rooftop beauty! This spacious restaurant and bar is located in Freeman's Bay, directly behind Victoria Park. Whether it's dinner with the crew, wines with the girls or date night - we've got you covered. Our Mediterranean menu will also get you talking. Tapas with style, cocktails with a punch and DJ's that guarantee to bring the weekend vibes in.  The Role This position requires you to set an example in the kitchen with your exemplary cooking skills. This role is ideal for an inspired, hard working individual, with a commitment to high standards. This is a full-time position with an average of at least 30 hours per week. Your main responsibilities include: Completing ordering and stocktaking to plan and manage food costsCreate rosters and managing wage costsMonitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentationDiscussing food preparation issues with managers, kitchen and waiting staffDemonstrating techniques and advising on cooking proceduresPreparing and cooking food to a consistently high standardTaking ownership of the food control plan and all team members understand the cleaning standards and processes within the kitchenMentoring, training and development of your team to ensure they have a thorough understanding of how to complete their role  Ensure all food is prepped and portion controlled prior to service to ensure no food prep is required to be completed during serviceEnsuring clear communication between the kitchen, front of house and head office departmentsOur new Head Chef will be embarking on an exciting culinary adventure with our Executive Chef and Culinary Director as we are in the process of refurbishing our venue to create an even more stunning space that will truly captivate our customers. The Pay We're proud to offer a highly competitive pay rate of $35.00 to $45.00 per hour for this position.
