Kitchen Assistant

The part-time kitchen assistant is in charge of assisting the kitchen workers with meal preparation and serving. The Kitchen Assistant is in charge of making sure that the food is made and served quickly and efficiently. Duties and obligations: • Help with meal preparation, such as dicing, slicing, and chopping ingredients. • Verify that all food items are prepared in accordance with standards and recipes. • Ensure that all food products are handled and kept correctly. • Assist with the upkeep and cleaning of the dining and kitchen areas. • Help with the stocking of supplies and food. • Help servers deliver meals to consumers. • Ensure that all hygienic and food safety requirements are followed. • Additional tasks as needed. Skills and credentials: • A diploma from a high school or an equivalent. • Prior experience working in a kitchen or a restaurant setting is preferred. • The capacity to work in a hurried setting. • The capacity to function autonomously and adhere to instructions. • The capacity for collaborative work. • An understanding of hygienic and food safety regulations. • The capacity to lift and move heavy objects. • The capacity for prolonged standing. • The capacity to work a variety of hours, including on the weekends.
