As the Advocacy Education Manager, you will play a pivotal role in raising awareness, facilitating self-advocacy, and building capacity among individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families and whanau. You will lead efforts to promote inclusivity, accessibility, and empowerment within our society. Advanced understanding of intellectual disabilities and the multifaceted challenges encountered by both individuals and their families, demonstrating a nuanced comprehension of their needs and concerns. Extensive experience and expertise in Empowerment Advocacy coupled with a steadfast commitment to promoting social justice, fostering an environment where the voices of individuals with intellectual disabilities are heard, respected, and empowered. Proficient presenter and educator adept at designing and implementing tailored programs, activities, and events that resonate with diverse audiences, effectively disseminating crucial information and fostering inclusive environments. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills honed through experience, enabling seamless interaction with individuals possessing varying communication abilities, thereby ensuring effective advocacy and support. Proven track record of inspiring and motivating individuals to embrace self-advocacy, leveraging a combination of empathy, encouragement, and empowerment strategies to instil confidence and autonomy.
