About the role The role of Kaituhono Mahi contributes to the development and implementation of students enrolled on Maori and Pacific Trades Training (MPTT) programmes. This includes building effective relationships with MPTT students and key stakeholders to create apprenticeship and employment pathway opportunities.Kaituhono Mahi are dedicated to supporting and mentoring akonga in their journey to employment. This includes support with navigating challenges or difficulties that may arise along the way and supporting akonga into further employment or their chosen pathway.We would like to talk with you if you have demonstrated experience in matauranga Maori as well as any of the following: working one-on-one with people to provide support, facilitating workshops, creating, implementing, and managing events and collaborating across teams. You will work with Te Kete Manaaki – Student Support teams, Maori Achievement Unit, Faculty and support staff, external stakeholders and te Tiriti partners to improve outcomes for MPTT students. Are you an ideal candidate? This is a permanent, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week. We are looking for a person who can demonstrate the following: Passion for akonga success. Strong verbal and written communication skills. The ability to establish and maintain effective relationships. Is a capable planner who monitors and reports on progress. Will enhance Wintec's strategic relationships with iwi, hapu, whanau and Maori communities. Experience working with Maori and/or Pacific communities. Is up for a challenge and thrives on working on new and collective solutions.
