About the role The role of Kaituhono Mahi contributes to the development and implementation of students enrolled on Maori and Pacific Trades Training (MPTT) programmes. This includes building effective relationships with MPTT students and key stakeholders to create higher study, apprenticeship and employment pathway opportunities.Kaituhono Mahi are dedicated to supporting and mentoring akonga in their journey as they transition into their future career endeavours. This includes providing support to akonga enrolled on an MPTT-funded foundation programmes to higher study, apprenticeship and/or employment, facilitating sessions that develop soft skills and communication skills, and engaging with mana whenua, pacific communities, internal stakeholders, industries, and employers.We would like to talk with you if you have demonstrated experience in vocational education, facilitating sessions, pathway planning, working with diverse akonga, and matauranga Maori. You will work with Te Kete Manaaki – Student Support teams, Maori Achievement Unit, Faculty and support staff, external stakeholders and te Tiriti partners to improve outcomes for MPTT students. Strong verbal and written communication skills. The ability to establish and maintain effective relationships. Is a capable planner who monitors and reports on progress. Will enhance Wintec's strategic relationships with iwi, hapu, whanau and Maori communities. Experience working with Maori and/or Pacific communities.
