An opportunity has arisen within Te Wahanga Hauora Maori (The Maori Health Service) of Te Whatu Ora, Te Matau a Maui, Hawke's Bay as a Kaitakawaenga (Maori Cultural Advisor).
In this role, the successful applicant will contact and meet with Maori patients who are scheduled to attend First Specialist Appointments to ensure they attend those appointments.
As well as working with another Kaitakawaenga in the same role and the wider Kaitakawaenga team, there is a need to work independently, have excellent communication skills, have good time management, have a good knowledge base in health and have a good understanding of the local Maori community.
A reasonably good knowledge of te reo Maori and Kahungunutanga would also be an advantage.
