Kaiarataki Purongo (Communications and Fundraising Manager) DCM is looking for an experienced communications and fundraising manager to join our senior leadership team, share the stories of our mahi with the most marginalised people in Wellington, and connect with our supporters and the wider community, to raise the funds needed to keep our essential services running. DCM (Downtown Community Ministry) is the leading social service working with people experiencing homelessness in Wellington – particularly those who are rough sleeping or without shelter. For 55 years, we have been assisting people to put their lives back together, working toward our vision for communities where whanau are housed, connected, valued and thriving. Your role will be to: Collaborate with DCM's Kaiarataki (Senior Leadership) team to bring DCM's strategic plan to life Capture and share the stories of DCM and our people Maintain and strengthen positive relationships with DCM's donors and supporters Plan, lead, monitor and evaluate DCM's fundraising activities Build new relationships with local businesses, corporate sponsors and other key partners in the community Provide advice, regular updates and reports to the Manahautu (Director of DCM). We are looking for someone with a tertiary qualification in communications or marketing who has good writing skills and fundraising experience, exceptional interpersonal skills, is non-judgemental, and can inspire and reach out to others. A demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Tikanga Maori is essential. You will lead a small team that primarily utilises grassroots communication channels such as social media, email campaigns (Mailchimp), and websites (Squarespace). Being part of a small team means you can wear many different hats and gain experience as a comms/fundraising all-rounder.
