About the role Our Cultural Practitioner - Te Whare Hinatore is responsible for implementing the daily programme, ensuring service delivery aligns with the direction, goals, and objectives of Te Whare Hinatore, with a specific focus on the implementation and integration of te ao Maori within all elements of the service. This includes the weekly Wahine dinner as an important extension of Te Whare Hinatore.
Duties Deliver Te Whare Hinatore daily programme alongside other practitioners.Provide support to conducts groups and 1:1 sessions in a safe and professional manner.Supports and/or conducts comprehensive assessments.Collaborate with team in the development of individual treatment and care/safety plans.Supports and / or conducts admission/discharge meetings.Skills Relevant tertiary qualification with demonstrated experience or experience working in the sector, ideally within a residential setting. An understanding of mental health and addiction.Experienced dealing with intensive clinical needs assessment and care planning for vulnerable clients.Empathy and understanding of issues of trauma, mental health, addiction, poverty and homelessness.Ability to build rapport, build and maintain relationships and interpersonal skills.A full clean New Zealand Drivers LicenceAccess to EAP & external supervision.Access to monthly romiromi (holistic energy and bodywork), kapahaka, and weekly waiata.Ongoing training and development.15% discount at Auckland City Mission Op Shops.Access to low cost, farm fresh produce on a weekly basis.Close to public transport.Discounted parking at SkyCity.Career progression opportunities.About the organisation: Auckland City Mission - Te Tapui Atawhai supports Aucklanders in greatest need. Over the past 12 months the Mission has provided 200 people with permanent homes, conducted over 20,000 consultations at the Calder Health Centre in HomeGround, cared for 474 people in our residential social detox facility in HomeGround, distributed over 50,000 food parcels to families and individuals, and served over 75,000 warm meals in our community dining room, Haeata. Last year we were proud to win the Nga Ahuatanga o Te Tiriti Tohu (Award), and the Supreme Award at the 2023 Diversity Awards. These awards recognise our mahi to create a workplace which empowers Maori, and where Maori solutions can be developed and offered to the people who we support.
