Someflexibility may be required to work some weekends and evenings. AboutyouBecause these classes are delivered in the Hokianga, ideally you will have networks and connections to that area. The Kaiako will need to have expert knowledge in nga ahuatanga o te reo – grammatical structures withinte reo Maori, whakamaori / whakapakeha - accurate translation, purakau / pakiwaitara– using stories and legends knowledge frameworks, opaki / okawa - formal andinformal language, waiata and haka –specialised knowledge of traditional waiataand haka, karanga and whaikorero.Ideally, applicants will have:Master (L9) or PostGraduate Diploma (L8) in Te Reo Maori or related subject, or attestedequivalent New ZealandCertificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching Level 5 (NZCATT L5) or equivalent, or be willing to complete during the first yearof employmentFulland current NZ Driver LicenceProven experience in a related roleRegularengagement or immersion in nga kaupapa MaoriFluency in te reoand nga ahuatanga Maori and ability to lead in these areas Adult teaching experienceWhilst teaching experienceis highly valued at TWoA, newly qualified Kaiako with relevant qualificationsbut with no or limited previous teaching experience will also be considered.Asa kaupapa Maori organisation, your willingness to participate in culturalactivities and develop an understanding of Ahuatanga Maori (values, culture andtikanga) is desirable.If we've outlined a role that matches your skillsand capabilities and a work environment that appeals, apply today!
