K2 head teacher – Northland Kindergarten AssociationFull time, Permanent Northland Kindergarten Association (NKA) seeks a head teacher to lead a committed team of teachers at Te Timatatanga o Te Matauranga Kindergarten. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspirational leader who is dedicated to partnering with whanau Maori and the community. Te Timatatanga o Te Matauranga Kindergarten has a teaching team of 4 teachers and a part-time administrator. The kindergarten operates five 6-hour sessions Monday to Friday catering for 30 children between 2 and 6 years of age. This team is dedicated to Maori education success; the programme is child centred, play-based and responsive and sustaining of cultural identity. Northland Kindergarten Association seeks applications from qualified, experienced teachers who have the following attributes: Is able to demonstrate excellence in leadership, management and mentoring skills Is visionary Displays evidence of strong contemporary practices and pedagogical leadership Has strong bi-cultural practice and knowledge Is able to establish authentic professional relationships with children, whanau and colleagues Is self-motivated, has initiative and is able to work collaboratively with others Is an excellent communicator with all members of the wider kindergarten community Has a strong focus on inclusiveness, recognising and valuing the rich diversity of the tamariki, kaiako, whanau and local community Northland Kindergarten Association adheres to the employment conditions as offered in the Kindergarten Teachers, Head Teachers and Senior Teachers Collective Agreement 2023–2026.
