Receiving rave reviews, Federal Delicatessen is a fresh venture with well known chef, Al Brown. The restaurant is fun, vibrant and reminiscent of the traditional Jewish Delis you'd experience in New York and Montreal but with a local spin.
We have a fantastic opportunity for an energetic, passionate and up and coming Junior Sous Chef looking to take the next exciting step in their culinary career.
As a Junior Sous, you'll be assisting in leading a team of 5-6 chefs during services, 5 shifts a week serving a'la carte dishes with a unique twist. Reporting to the Head Chef, your week will be a mix of days and nights as you play an integral part in keeping Federal Delicatessen's success rolling on.
You'll be calm, confident and thrive on a challenge to work in such a fast paced environment. If you've managed to visit Federal Delicatessen or neighbour Depot, you'll see what we mean! Strong organisation skills honed through working in busy production or prep kitchens will be critical to ensuring you succeed in running this smooth operation.
Besides working alongside a team of experienced culinary professionals, you'll also get the chance to learn from Al Brown, a well respected kiwi chef. A love of Jewish American food and getting the New York deli vibe is a definite positive as well. Our team lives and breathes this authentic and exciting concept.
