Our client is seeking an Investment Business Partner to join their dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to provide strategic financial management for significant investment programmes, working closely with internal stakeholders to develop multi-year investment plans. The successful candidate will be instrumental in facilitating strategic decision-making processes and providing business and financial advice that drives the organisation forward. This role is perfect for a Chartered Accountant with over five years of post-qualification experience, particularly in large scale programmes or projects.• Provide strategic financial management for significant investment programmes.• Work closely with internal stakeholders to develop multi-year investment plans.• Facilitate strategic decision-making processes and provide business and financial advice.
What you'll do:
As an Investment Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our client's organisation. You will be responsible for providing strategic financial management for their investment programmes, working closely with internal stakeholders to develop comprehensive multi-year investment plans. Your expertise will be crucial in facilitating strategic decision-making processes, providing insightful business and financial advice that assists in managing, monitoring, and reporting on the financials. Your ability to understand key cost drivers and pressures will enable you to offer proactive, relevant, and integrated business and financial advice. You will also ensure that all financial information is accurately produced in a timely manner.
• Provide financial leadership for the implementation business case process.
• Lead the medium- and long-term financial advice and reporting for relevant business units, programmes, governance boards.
• Evaluate and advise on proposed budget initiatives and new investment proposals.
• Understand the programme's key cost drivers and pressures and use this knowledge to provide proactive, relevant, and integrated business and financial advice.
• Ensure financial information are accurately produced in a timely manner.
• Deliver effective financial training and support to those involved in the programme.
• Work within constraints such as the Public Finance Act, NZ GAAP, Treasury Instructions and Treasury Circulars.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Investment Business Partner role brings a wealth of experience in strategic financial management. As a Chartered Accountant with over five years of post-qualification experience, you have a deep understanding of programme planning, budgetary processes and systems relating to programme performance, reporting and governance. Your experience in contributing to strategic decisions and formulating business decisions will be invaluable in this role. You have worked on large scale programmes or projects, demonstrating your ability to lead as an accountant or equivalent business expertise. Your strong analytical, strategic, planning skills and commercial savviness will enable you to excel in this role.
• Chartered Accountant (CAANZ or equivalent) with 5 years post qualification experience.
• Understanding of programme planning, programme budgetary processes and systems relating to programme performance, reporting and governance.
• Experience in contributing to strategic decisions and formulating business decisions.
• Greater than 5 years' experience on large scale >$10m programmes/projects, as lead accountant or equivalent business expertise and experience.
• Experience in analysing technical issues and making business decisions with financial impact.
• Strong analytical, strategic, planning skills as well as being commercially savvy.
