Full time, 80 hours per fortnight
Fixed term for 12 months
Hawke's Bay District Health Board is pleased to be able to offer an Intern Pharmacist position in 2020.
This position will be based at the Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Hastings commencing in January 2020 (precise date to be confirmed with the successful applicant).
All acute hospital services are provided from a single, modern facility - the philosophy of our organisation is based on patient focused care and the Pharmacy Services reflect this.
As an intern your training will be supported by a certified pharmacist preceptor and you will be exposed to a variety of clinical and non-clinical experiences including:
Clinical pharmacy (ward pharmacy)
Therapeutic drug monitoring
The provision of drug information
Extemporaneous compounding
Dispensing

Hear from our current intern Emma:"I moved to Hawkes Bay on my own, and the team in the pharmacy department have been the most supportive, kind and personable colleagues I could have asked for. We are a sociable bunch and enjoy getting to know people beyond their job title. Being responsible for a ward and offering a high standard of pharmaceutical care is highly rewarding, particularly when you feel like you've spent your day helping colleagues and patients."
Applications are invited from students who are currently completing their final year of a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree in New Zealand and who hold New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
Applications must be completed online and include a current CV, cover letter and a copy of the applicant's academic transcript.
