The Environmental Consents Division at Hutt City council is a dynamic and high-performing team who are currently experiencing growth. A position has become available for a planner with at least 2 years' experience in consenting to help deliver world-class outcomes for our vibrant community. There is an exciting range of work due to the variety of developments and complexity of the planning environment.
The Roles & Responsibilities
The Planner's role is to process applications under the Resource Management Act 1991. The Planner is required to formulate and document sound decisions in relation to these applications.
Guided by the regulations, the planning team are continually managing the competing interests of the District, enabling and supporting the District's growth needs, all whilst protecting the landscapes and elements that make this remarkable District sustainable for the generations to come.
Person Profile:
Previous experience working in a similar role
Relevant tertiary qualification in planning, resource management or related field required
Ability to interpret plans, regulations and by-laws
Demonstrated ability to present topics to the public, professionals, at hearings and at meetings
Displays initiative and analytical skills
