The Role

An intermediate Copywriter is responsible for developing outstanding, contemporary creative solutions: Ideas that are effective, strategic, agnostic and transformative for our clients' businesses.
In this intermediate creative role, you report to the Creative Director and the Executive Creative Director. It is expected that you will work in collaboration with other team members, be they creatives, digital developers, creative technologists or strategists. You will be expected to create work that not only answers the brief and helps to solve the client's business problem but also lives up to the BBDO mantra of ‘The Work. The Work. The Work'. That means that the idea is truly original and inspiring and completed to a high standard.
The Copywriter is largely responsible for all written components of the work in collaboration with other creative members and Creative Director. The Copywriter is expected to craft the tone and execution of the written elements of the work, from concepting through to completion.
Skills and experience required
Ideation and Craft
Take briefs from Business Leads and senior Creatives.
Implement strategy and direction from the brief and the Creative Director, and provide copy writing expertise in generating exceptional agnostic creative solutions.
Translate creative strategies into innovative selling ideas.
Generate work that not only wins Creative and Effectiveness awards, but changes culture.
Take risks and think beyond the ordinary. Strive to be unimaginably original.
Professional Knowledge
Demonstrate an ability for compelling and captivating writing.
Show excellence with the English language.
Understand marketing and creative strategies for assigned brands.
Utilise the knowledge and experience of creative superiors/mentors.
Have practical knowledge of the range of skills required to produce contemporary creative, be it a story, system, product or experience.
Client Focus
Earn the respect of clients and build heathy and productive relationships with them.
Present your work to the client, either with or without a Creative Director present.
Explain the idea clearly and succinctly to help the account team to sell the work.
