This is a newly created role part of the Innovation Team. Zespri Innovation is a world-class Research & Development (R&D) program, with outputs that can be implemented and adopted by Zespri growers in New Zealand and our offshore growing locations. The ultimate purpose of innovation is growing the value for shareholders, increasing the net return to growers, and ensuring industry longevity. The purpose of this role is to support the Innovation Leader in the delivery of robust research that supports Zespri's strategy. This role is an excellent opportunity to expand your project management and innovation skills at Zespri. In this role, you will be working across multiple projects (at least 5 at a time). These projects range from technically complex climate change modelling projects through to more practical on-orchard projects. Projects tend to be multi-year projects with budgets that can run into the millions. Several projects are strategically significant and have visibility at the Board level. Key accountabilities include; Setting up projects for approval and contracting by working with relevant stakeholders and drafting project objectives, delivery schedules, budgets and resources Coordinating projects by maintaining project delivery schedules, documenting project issues, drafting project variations and monitoring project invoicing Communicating project and programme progress by acting as the point of contact for the projects, coordinating advisory group and project meetings, drafting project communications and updates Providing support to the broader Innovation team with industry events, Innovation team days and summer interns Ko wai koe? Who are you? You will be a collaborative team player who is organised and able to manage their own workload, and is a confident communicator both verbally and visually. You will also meet the following selection criteria; A technology- or science-based degree (e.g., Bachelor of Science, Engineering, or Computer Science). Project coordination or management certification or experience of at least 3 years. Communications certification or experience. High-level of skill in computer software packages: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ideally SharePoint and Project and Power BI (not essential) Experience in the horticulture, agriculture, and / or technology sectors is highly regarded but not essential Experience in research and development or innovation project delivery is highly regarded but not essential Our people are what makes our culture so irresistible and uniquely Zespri.
