Due to an internal promotion we’re looking for a savvy Systems Specialist to join our team to ensure reliable and secure support services and systems are available to our large customer network. This is a great opportunity to get your teeth stuck into a meaty role where you will make a difference and get noticed for all the right reasons.
Reporting to the Core Infrastructure Team Lead, you’ll be the one to take ownership of server and storage incident responses. You’ll ensure cost effective, secure and reliable connectivity for our customers and manage the associated systems infrastructure.
With the Team Lead you’ll also be responsible for the build, deployment and ongoing second and third line support for not only the infrastructure but the applications too.
Do you have what it takes?!We’re looking for you to have in-depth knowledge in: Server hardware, software systems and programs, including Microsoft and Linux, VMWare administration, anti-virus and security applications, MS Exchange, AD and proxy, as well as backup/restore technologies such as Commvault.
You’ll be an expert trouble-shooter with stand-out communication skills. With this you’ll be tertiary qualified in IT or something similar, with proven application support experience being highly desirable. Database admin and scripting experience would also be preferable as would knowledge of Puppet, Splunk, Solarwinds, Orion and Qualys tools.
You’ll be someone who won’t be afraid to muck in with the team, who likes to have a laugh and would consider themselves pretty easy going, while being prepared to work hard when the going gets tough. We operate in a 24/7 environment, so being able to work in an afterhours environment is important.
