This is mahi that will improve the health and well-being of everyone in Aotearoa, and we've got an opportunity for you to be part of it…Te whiwhinga mahi | The OpportunityTe Whatu Ora Improve takes a whole system, consumer, whanau-centred and equity led approach to accelerate improvement and innovation underpinned by best evidence, data and evaluation.In this role, your primary purpose will be to lead and manage successful local, regional and national improvement and innovation projects, working collaboratively with clinicians, managers, support services and other key stakeholders. You will support staff to understand problems and support them to develop projects that deliver improvements.On a day-to-day basis, you will oversee the planning, design, execution, and delivery of a number of projects simultaneously. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget, while maintaining high quality standards. You will also manage project teams to ensure that they are working effectively, removing any roadblocks and able to deliver on key requirements.You will be responsible for tracking project performance and reporting requirements. You will provide regular status updates to leaders, and keep stakeholders well-informed of project progress and status updates.You will be a highly organised and adaptable Project Manager, with the ability to identify the need for improvement and have experience in all aspects of project work, including planning, design, change management, risk management, benefit realisation, communication, reporting and evaluation. Ideally you will have project management experience within a large organisation, or a complex environment.You will have an understanding of complex systems, and will be able to use your advanced problem solving skills to understand and solve difficult problems through identifying creative and innovative solutions.You will be required to work with a range of teams and audiences in this role so you will need to be an excellent communicator with a strong stakeholder focus, who is able to build strong relationships across the organisation. You are someone who can negotiate effectively, and work collaboratively to deliver results. You will also be experienced in facilitating workshops.You will be a strong leader with the ability to manage teams effectively, and enable teams to meet project deliverables on time and to a high standard.Recognised project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE 2, MSP) or equivalent experience.Formal training and experience in applying improvement and innovation methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, IHI Model for Improvement, Double Diamond, Agile etc.) or relevant experience.2+ years' experience of successful project management and leading change projects with proven ability to manage and deliver projects on time and in budget.Knowledge of health equity and the New Zealand health sector.Skills in the collection, analysis and presentation of data.Understanding of variation and the use of statistical process control software (e.g. Minitab, QI Macros).A commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions.
