New housing development Sole charge role Exciting opportunity About the role This is an exciting opportunity to continue your tenancy management career in Community Housing. The Housing Support Manager is our frontline contact with our tenants and a key part of this role will be to provide specialist tenancy management services whilst building and maintaining respectful and effective relationships with tenants, their whanau and existing agencies (Govt. and NGO) and support services within the community. This role covers Tenancy Management in Dunedin and Support Tenancy Management in Mosgiel. What will your responsibilities be? Efficient and effective tenancy management services Maintaining core relationships with tenants Proactively engage with tenants ensuring tenancy and maintenance requests are appropriately resolved Ensure tenant and tenancy information held by SASH is maintained in an accurate and timely manner Address antisocial behaviour complaints against tenants Conduct regular property inspections Prepare documentation and represent SASH at Tribunal as needed Regularly review debtors lists, taking corrective action with tenants where appropriate/required Follow all health and safety procedures Develop effective working relationships with existing agencies (Govt. and NGO) and support agencies within the community Our ideal candidate will: A sound understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act 1986 A sound understanding of community and/or public housing A sound understanding of the issues affecting people from a low socio-economic background and those who have high needs High level of initiative with the ability to make sound decisions on complex issues Experience dealing with diverse communities is essential Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Expertise in time management and organisational skills Expertise in building relationships with external agencies (Govt., NGO's and support services) to help benefit and support tenants Intermediate user of Microsoft Office products but is also comfortable learning new systems Current full licence Our offer to you: Two Salvation Army additional leave days and long service leave Discounted Medical Insurance with Southern Cross TSA discount card for discount with various retailors such as Beaurepaires, Noel Leeming, Placemakers and Torpedo7 Free confidential counselling services to support your wellbeing Subsidised flu vaccinations Candidates should be adaptable, energetic, self-motivated and committed to our mission of 'caring for people, transforming lives and reforming society' Hours of work: This is a permanent position and hours to be worked will be 37.5 hours per week.
