Hutt City Museums is looking for friendly, motivated, hard-working people to join our Front of House team. 
About the role Our Hosts are the welcoming and informative face of The Dowse Art Museum and Petone Settlers Museum. The role of the Host is to create an inviting and positive experience for all visitors and customers by: 
Being the first point of contact for all visitors - providing information and assisting with queriesHelping customers in our retail stores. Our museum shop stocks many local artists, and it is your job to sell these amazing products!Assisting venue hire clients and ensuring the smooth running of events and functions. Setting up and unpacking furniture for functions.Assisting with the Museums public programmes and events and giving tours of the galleries.Some evenings and weekend work will be required.Duty managers license is desirable.Retail or hospitality experience desirableAble to work independently as one day a week will be at Petone Settlers Museum on Petone foreshore. About you To succeed in this role; you will have a passion for customer service and retail, enjoy creating a positive environment for others, and thrive on working as part of a team with strong values and objectives. You will be able to be on your feet much of the day and be able to lift and move furniture etc. You will need to be computer competent as you will use our retail sales system etc. 
 We are looking to fill 2 vacancies.
Tuesday - Friday. The usual hours of work will be 9.45am - 5.15pm There will be times when we require you to start early, work an evening or weekend shift depending on the needs of the business.Wednesday - Sunday. The usual hours of work will be 9.45am - 5.15pm There will be times when we will require you to start early or work an evening depending on the needs of the business.The Dowse team is close-knit, skilled, and enthusiastic. Your work will be diverse, and we work hard to provide good career and skill development opportunities for our staff.
