Job Description We are looking for a Farm Assistant/Herd manager that is willing to progress in the area of pasture management on top of general farm duties. Such as but not limited to, milking, identifying and treating sick cows, data collection, topping, feeding out and effluent management.Attributes we value in a staff member are tidiness, honesty, and the ability to work in a team and independently. We are a family run business that are always looking to progress and encourage our team members to do also. This meaning we value offering educational opportunities and ways to progress within our business. We have a 250 hectare effective milking platform with a 500 cow barn and a 160 cow herd home. Run on a 24 hour grazing system under the guidance of milk map consulting. This is known as grazing 120. In addition to the dairy farm we have a 220 hectare runoff 8kms up the road with a 200 cow herd home, and a lease block adjacent to the dairy farm. Both runoff and lease block are used for young stock, beefies, and our dairy block silage for wintering. The dairy farm is currently run by my wife and I as contract milkers and the runoff is overseen by the farm owner, with the assistance of our team. #J-18808-Ljbffr
