Details of the offer

Reporting to the HR Lead, you will work with the national team and Trustee Board to implement the health, safety, and wellbeing strategy. You will build relationships of trust and work proactively with staff and Centre members to influence and continue to foster a proactive HSW culture within Playcentre, and to establish and maintain a programme of continuous improvement in the management of HSW.
You will also provide specialist support, guidance and advice on health and safety matters, ensuring best practice and compliance is achieved, and will be responsible for managing the day to day use of online the HSW system to increase engagement, reporting, and to promote the consistent use of the system to capture health and safety activities.
There is plenty of scope to add value using your H&S experience to ensure the organisation is operating in the safest, most efficient, effective and best practice manner.
Being a fairly new role for the organisation, there is a genuine opportunity to continue to shape the role and make a positive difference for this important and iconic NZ organisation.

Position description:Click here to view The ideal candidate will:Have a well rounded understanding of Health & Safety including a sound knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015Demonstrate highly developed interpersonal skills; be able to relate effectively and authentically at all levels, from Board and leadership team to grass rootsHave empathy for the philosophy and values of Playcentre and a desire to drive the implementation of their new H&S StrategyShow a high level of initiative with effective planning, project co-ordination and organisational abilitiesHave superior communication, problem solving and analytical capabilities, coupled with sound judgementHave a consultative and open style with a 'no surprises' approachRecognise the "big picture" in issues while also attending to detailBe proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite and a range of incident reporting systems/softwareApplicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
