Our purpose is providing affordable and sustainable energy for Far North consumers, which we are achieving by transforming the Top Energy Group into a technology-enabled energy company that generates and facilitates two-way energy flow between renewable energy generators and consumers.As the Health Safety and Risk champion, you will be managing and enhancing the health and safety performance and risk management capability of the Group. You will own the Health and Safety Management and Risk Management Systems.This position reports to the General Manager Finance and is based at our Kerikeri office.Key areas of focus will be:Work to advance organisational cultural maturity of health and safety and organisational risk management, achieved through effective communication, consultation, mentoring and support to leadership teamsDevelop and maintain a company wide risk management framework, aligned with ISO standards including 45001 and 31000.Partnering with the business to establish, monitor, and achieve HSR objectivesWork with the Executive Team, Business Unit managers and the Quality Assurance team to implement a structure to support the effective management of organisational risk within prescribed appetiteLead of the annual Group Health and Safety Management ReviewMaintaining and reviewing safety management systems, continuously evaluating procedures and practices, implementing improvements and solutionsOversee Incident Management response, investigation and reporting, management of safety alertsPreparing a range of reports, communications and alerts up to Board level, as well as delivery of risk compliance certificates and reporting of risk movementsTo succeed in this role, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification in Health and Safety with at least ten years' experience in Health and Safety management and preferably hold a membership with a relevant risk institution. An extensive understanding of Health and Safety legislation and Risk Management practices is required.
