We have a close-knit culture and when you come on board as either our client or a team member, you get treated like family.  With a team of nearly 100 people, we operate throughout the central north island delivering exceptional results across the construction sector.  What does the job entail You will be responsible for continuing to develop, implement and update health and safety policies, procedures, and standards throughout our group of companies.  You will need to ensure that all of those are consistently in line with NZ regulations and construction best practices throughout our group of companies.  You will also be required to: Train and guide management, employees and subcontractors on health and safety policies and best practices; Provide professional advice to our team, developing a positive safety culture and awareness;  Investigate incidents, near misses, accidents and implement corrective actions; Plan and lead health and safety projects and initiatives within our business;  Produce various reports and data analysis to ensure a rigorous and high quality approach to health and safety.  Who we are looking for  Health and safety has been and continues to be a journey for our business. We are looking for a proactive yet considered individual who will play a crucial role in elevating our Company's health and safety processes across the board. You will embody a combination of H&S expertise, positive leadership, and professionalism to succeed in this position.  We are looking for someone who is comfortably active on site, and respected with their boots on the ground, but equally as comfortable in a leadership environment and communicating H&S strategy with our senior leadership team.  You would be working closely with our operational teams as well as interacting with our clients and subcontractors every day. We are not looking for someone to police the function, rather someone to partner with our teams to promote and continue to build a positive safety culture within the group.  What you will bring to the table You will have a solid track record working in the health and safety space in construction - We would prefer a minimum of 5 years' experience in a construction environment; You will hold qualifications in the health and safety field; Display a genuine passion for HSE, working closely with site managers, operational teams and contractors and building robust relationships throughout the group.  An ability to coach, guide and influence is essential.  We value a team player who can think strategically and communicate effectively.  You will have a can-do attitude and won't mind "mucking in" for the greater good when its needed.  Apply online If this opportunity sounds like it's for you, we would love to hear from you.
