As a family-owned business our client cares about their team and are passionate about providing a healthy work/life balance for all their team members.About the role:As the Health and Safety Advisor you will be passionate about having an operational and pragmatic approach to Health and Safety and embed yourself into identifying, implementing, and guiding our client's business on safety culture objectives and improvements.You will have a background working in a civil construction environment. This is a pivotal hands-on role, so you will advise and provide practical guidance to all levels of the business from operational field teams to the management team. This will involve facilitating training/ learning & development sessions, toolbox talks, and inductions, as well as incident and hazard management, corrective action implementation, and reviewing safe work practices. You will also provide operational management and support to ensure environmental measures are monitored and maintained.What your day could look like:Monitor and manage the Health and Safety processes and procedures that ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation for our client within the operational field environmentMonitor and manage the incident and hazard registersLead the Health and Safety Worker CommitteeAssist and support operational roles in conducting regular toolbox and/or health and safety meetings in each site across all divisionsProvide operational management and support to ensure environmental measures are monitored and maintained in accordance with the business needs and ISO14001 requirementsFacilitate, monitor, and coach the implementation of internal HSE training strategies and supporting programsEnsure primary focus is on-the-job training, coaching and upskilling all team members in health & safety procedures, risk mitigation and competenciesAbout you:Appropriate industry or tertiary qualificationRelevant professional memberships, registrations, and accreditations are a bonusOperational experience and knowledge of HSE practices in civil construction sitesStrong knowledge of the ISO 45001 standardExperience in facilitating and leading trainings related to Health and SafetyIf you want to be part of a growing team and are willing to bring your down-to-earth personality, we will provide a safe working environment, full company uniform including PPE, and a culture that encourages development through training and teamwork.
